Ayatollah Jawad Fazel meets staffers of Dezful Agricultural Jihad and Basij members

Ayatollah Muhammad Jawad Fazel met the staffers of Dezful Agricultural Jihad and Basij members Sunday 13 June. In this meeting, Ayatollah Fazel praised Dezful people for their brave resistance against the missile attacks of the aggressive enemy during the holy imposed Iran-Iraq war.

Speaking about the holy months of Rajab and Sha'ban, His Eminence said, "The holy months of Rajab and Sha'ban are very important months because of the fact that they serve as preliminaries to the month of Ramadhan, the month of fasting. There are many traditions concerning these two months and we must avail ourselves of the blessings of these two months. We must also pray to Almighty Allah to grant us success in serving the cause of our religion, the revolution and the Islamic System. We must endeavor to strengthen our faith and make our best to do things for God's sake and for His pleasure. It is important to note that Imam Khomeini (ra.) helped the pure Muhammadan Islam spread in the society. He tried all throughout his life to make the world understand that Islam, which originates in the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH) and the Infallibles (a.s), is the religion that is capable of managing the society and its executive strategies are the wialyat-e faqih (governance of the jurist). Regretfully, these days we are hearing some people (who claim to be the followers of late Imam Khomeini) saying that this religion cannot serve the present-day needs and that it is an outdated religion that can no longer confront the contemporary challenges. There is no doubt that such people who claim to be the followers of the Imam (ra) is not but mere hypocrisy. Their beliefs and statements are in clear contrast with the sayings and practical tradition of the Imam. Such people cannot be the true followers of Imam Khomeini or loyal to the doctrine of wilayat-e faqih. We believe that the belief in the fact that the Religion can manage the affairs of the society is concomitant with the belief in wilayat-e faqih. There is no dichotomy between the two and whosoever believes in a dichotomy in fact does not believe in Islam's ability to manage and handle the affairs of the society."

"As was stated by the Supreme Leader, 'Imam Khomeini is the standard of our revolution'", he further added. "One of his famous and very pivotal sayings was that, Islam CAN manage the affairs of the society. Islam is a religion which has multi dimensions and all of its dimension can be implemented."

He reiterated, "We must understand Islam correctly and whoever understands it better, has better understanding of the revolution and the path of Imam Khomeini. The founder of the revolution greatly emphasized on belief in God and unity of the nation. He forbade from mischief, disunity and discord. Why no mourning ceremonies were held on the day of his death anniversary? Our dear people are very sensitive about the Imam and this negligence was a kind of disrespect to the Imam."
