Hojjatoleslam Sayyed Jawad Noor Musavi, head of the committee for commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the demise of late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (r.a) speaking to reporters extended his condolences on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Fatima Zahra (s.a.) and said: “Today, Fatimiyah has become a culture. Thanks are due to the great efforts made by late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani who commemorated and upheld the martyrdom anniversary of the Holy Prophet’s daughter, Fatima Zahra – peace be upon them. What he wanted to happen is happening today. Indeed, he attached special importance to reviving the memory of Fatima Zahra (s.a). That was why he wanted everyone to play a part in commemorating and reviving Fatima Zahra’s  martyrdom or the Fatimiyah days.”

“Late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani, may his soul rest in peace, had a great and special love for Hazrat Fatima Zahra, peace be upon her. When in the year 2007 he was flown to a hospital in London, he insisted that he be taken back to Iran so that he could commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Fatima Zahra (s.a.). He passed away 36 hours after he arrived in Iran during Fatimiya days,” Noor Musavi added. He quoted Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani, may his soul rest in peace, as having said: “You should change this day, the day of the martyrdom of Fatima Zahra (s.a.) into a second Ashura by holding mourning ceremonies and taking out processions into the streets.”

“Fatima Zahra, peace be upon her, is a role model for the entire humanity. Indeed, she revived Shi’ism with her martyrdom for ever,” Musavi said. Noor Musavi reiterated that human intelligence is unable and lacks the capacity to understand Fatima’s great personality. “Today, Fatimiyah has turned into a culture which helps Shiites reach the realities of Islam, thanks to the sincere efforts made over the years by great Shia scholars and preachers”, he said.

Head of the committee for commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the demise of late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (r.a), said that the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) is one of the noble and lasting works accomplished under his auspices. “This is a center which aims to train experts and jurists in various fields such as Usul (legal theories), Fiqh (jurisprudence), philosophy and theology. At present, it has active branches in Tehran, Mashad and some countries,” he notified.

“The Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) has started its academic and cultural activities outside of Iran for the past many years. It is engaged in propagating the religion of Islam and in training preachers who would be able to spread the message of Islam,” he further added. Noor Musavi went on saying that the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) has a long history of teaching and training students in the area of legal theories and in jurisprudence.

Following the demise of late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (r.a), the Center furthered its activities in and out Iran and it has been very successful in its efforts.  In recent years, the Center has launched classes also in the area of the exegesis and commentary of the Holy Quran and in theology. Its various branches in countries like UK, Malaysia, Indonesia, Syria and Afghanistan are more active than ever before.

The fifth anniversary of the demise of late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (r.a) shall be commemorated simultaneously all over Iran and in different countries. It will be also held here in Qom following Maghrib and Isha prayers in Masjid A’zam near the shrine of Fatima Ma’sumah (may peace be upon her).

The ceremony will be held in Masjid A’zam with grand religious authorities, their representatives, scholars, clerics, government authorities and general public in attendance. Hojjatoleslam Husseini Khurasani, one of the scholars and researchers of the Islamic Seminary of Qom would be the speaker.

In this ceremony, the speaker will highlight the scientific, social, cultural and religious position of the late Ayatollah. Noor Musavi further said: “The commemoration committee began preparing for this ceremony three months ago. The ceremony on the fifth anniversary of the demise of late Grand Ayatollah Lankarani will be held with the collaboration of Hawzah Management Center, Islamic Propagations Office, Islamic Propagations Organizations, Islamic Culture and Communications Organization, Jum’ah prayer leaders, Mosque Committee, Education Department, Secretariat of Islamic Culture and Guidance, Sports and Youth Organization and Iran’s Representative Offices all over the world.”

“The scientific commemoration of the late Ayatollah will take place in the Islamic seminaries all over the country with the cooperation of Hawzah Management Center. Also, Quran recitation programs will be held on the night preceding the day of the demise of the late Ayatollah with the cooperation of the Supreme Committee of Cultural and Arts Center of Mosques under the title of “Recitation of the Light”. In addition, the Friday prayer leaders all over the Islamic Republic of Iran will commemorate the memory of the late Grand Ayatollah on the occasion of his demise – may his soul rest in peace,” Noor Musavi briefed.

The director of the public and international relations department of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) also said that preachers who travel to different parts of the country during Fatimiya days as a part of the Migration Program will also. on their part, commemorate the demise anniversary of late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (r.a). He said that commemoration ceremonies will star from the 26th of April and last until 13th of June (demise anniversary of His Eminence in English calendar) all over Iran and in some foreign countries.
