The first scientific symposium of the Research Group of Political Jurisprudence titled "The Nature of Political Jurisprudence" was held by the research department of the Jurisprudence Center of Pure Imams (a.s.) on April 16 2008. The symposium was held with the attendance of Hojjatul Islam Ahmad Muballeghi, head of the Academy of Islamic Sciences and Culture. Speaking in a gathering of researchers and students, Hojjatul Islam Muballeghi provided highly important and valuable insights on the concept and nature of political jurisprudence, its sources, features, issues and the methods of legal deduction and inference as well as its comparison with other specialized branches of fiqh (jurisprudence).
He said: "Political philosophy is the political theory and the political philosophy of Islam is the political theory of Islam which come entirely into the realm of political jurisprudence."
He emphasized that theorization in those fields was the task of a jurist.
"The political system of Islam is also a political theory. Its explanation is the duty of a jurist." He further added.
The symposium went on with answers given by Muballeghi to questions raised by researchers and attendants about the subject. Meanwhile, Mr. Muballeghi spoke in memory of the founder of the center, late Grand Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani (may his soul rest in peace) and praised and appreciated the valuable efforts by the head of the center which have resulted in great achievements and scientific developement for the center and researchers.
